Why Amar Desh made this Investigation ?
Reshma's rescue was the top news both in National and International Media. After the mass killings in Hefajot's Dhaka Siege, whole country was in a state of Severe despondency and dejection, accompanied by feelings of hopelessness and inadequacy. Reshma's Miraculous rescue brought some hope and Joy. But soon, people's joy began to fade. Rumors and confusion occupied the space of hope!
To clear confusion, and to reveal the truth, Daily Amar Desh took the responsibility to reveal the truth.
Investigation Team
Investigation was Run by two senior Journalists of Amar Desh:
* Mahmuda Doli
* Shishir Abdullah
They were helped by Local Journalist of Dinajpur (Reshma's Village). His name is Md. Mokhlesur Rahman.
They went into her village, her rented house in Savar, Hospital, and her close friends and relatives. Enamul, third floor line with whom reshma had affairs, refused to give interview towards the beginning. Later, journalists played a trick, one of them acted as a sister of Reshma. Then Enamul gave the statement that she was rescued at the same day and both of them were admitted in Enam Hospital. Amar Desh Published his mobile Number and also claimed that they have the record of the conversation.
Who do they Interviewed ?
Amar Desh interviewed the following people as part of the investigation: Reshma's Mother Zobeda, Sister Asma, neighbors of her village home, Owner Couple of her Savar Rented Home and neighbors, Reshma's Close friend Ruma, New Web Style Garment's 3rd floor LineMan Enamul, Owner of a Canteen beside the Collapse building Alam, Few Security Man of Rana Plaza, 3rd and 7th Floor Workers of NewWeb Style Garments Raza, Moyna, Zashim and few others, local people who were involve in the rescue mission, local people of the area, and few Small Businessman in that area.
Reasons Behind this Drama!
This Drama was Staged to deviate few issues like Massacre on 5th May, Oppression on opposition political activists, international pressure after the collapse of Rana Plaza, failure in Rescue Mission and various other issues which govt. was getting pressure at that time!
She was given a promise that either she would be sent to USA or she will be given work in a Top Company with a payroll of about 60,000 Tk.
To fulfill the Promise, Government managed to give her a Job in in a Five Star Hotel with huge amount of Payroll
